About Us

In some ways, music doesn't get much more honest or minimalist than it is in the hands of Red In The Water, a duo comprised of Florida-to-Ohio transplant Alyssa Hanson and her life long nomadic partner, Rick Burner. Their minimalistic live arrangements are fleshed out with just the barest of accoutrements. The passion for sound that stems from these musicians is undeniable, as their intricate harmonies and velvet grit weave the listener in and out of almost achingly personal experiences. Each song is an intimate conversation, and no third wheels or dinner-party chatter are going to interrupt that gorgeous, haunting hush.

If I were alone in a movement-
The movement
might make such a sound.
An unwilling defeat
while we soak up the heat
of the movement
we're offered,
and how.

And If i were alone in a movement-
I would lay you back down
on my chest.
For whatever we ride-
And at whomever's side-
At the cost we have
laid
down
the rest.

But I am not alone in the movement.
I can feel
fingers in
all I
dream.

I declare it tonight.
Many measures
of
sight
will awaken
the blind-
To
see.

Yes.

If were alone in a movement-
the movement might make
such a sound.
An untimely device
Pleasure
in the demise
to the satient
lines
that
I'm
bound.

I am never alone in the movement.
There will always be
one song aloud.
To awaken the eyes
that serve love -
but not light.

I still
wade in
that
water,
Now.
